GiftedKids.in — India's First Gifted Education Platform, Launched by Kunwer & Khushboo Sachdev
At Su-vastika, our work is about energy — lithium batteries, solar hybrid systems, and clean power backup. But the people who built this company have always cared about something larger: how India treats the minds it overlooks. Today we are proud to share a new initiative from Kunwer Sachdev (mentor) and Khushboo Sachdev (Founder & CEO of Su-vastika) — one that has nothing to do with power electronics, and everything to do with the future of India's children.
Our mentor, Kunwer Sachdev, and our CEO, Khushboo Sachdev — together with Cambridge-trained gifted-education specialist Dr. Inderbir Kaur Sandhu — have launched GiftedKids.in, India's first platform dedicated to identifying, nurturing and advocating for gifted children.

What Is GiftedKids.in?
GiftedKids.in is India's first culturally rooted platform for gifted education — built for Indian classrooms, Indian languages and Indian realities, not borrowed from Western frameworks. It exists to solve a quiet national problem: millions of gifted children across India are told they are lazy, too much, or not trying hard enough, when in truth they are simply wired differently — and rarely identified.
The scale of the gap is striking:
- 3–5% of all children are gifted — across every income level, language and school in India
- 1 crore+ gifted children are sitting in Indian classrooms right now — almost none of them identified
- 35+ countries have a national gifted-education policy. India has none
Why This Matters to Us at Su-vastika
This is not an unrelated venture — it is the same founding minds applying the same instinct that built Su-vastika: see a real problem that everyone has accepted as normal, and build the thing that should have always existed.
The story is personal. Kunwer Sachdev — the "Inverter Man of India," who built Su-Kam from a Delhi workshop into a brand exported to 90+ countries — was a government-school student in Punjabi Bagh who failed Physics and repeated his 12th standard. No teacher ever told him he thought differently. At the age of 47, he read a book called Gifted Grownups and, for the first time, understood the way his own mind worked. GiftedKids.in is his answer to the question he wishes someone had answered for him decades earlier.
He is joined by Khushboo Sachdev — Su-vastika's CEO, a Government-of-India patent holder and "Super Woman 2025" awardee — and by Dr. Inderbir Kaur Sandhu, who holds a PhD in Educational Psychology (Gifted Education) from the University of Cambridge and has worked with high-ability children since 1996.
Identification Built for India — Not Imported From the West
India has no culturally calibrated way to identify gifted children. Western IQ tests were designed for English-speaking, Western-context children — they simply cannot see the gifted child who speaks Bhojpuri, studies in a Hindi-medium school, and shows genius through mechanical curiosity rather than exam marks.
GiftedKids.in's identification framework is observation-based — built on behaviour, depth of thinking and intensity of engagement, not test scores. It needs no IQ test, works across Hindi, regional-language and English-medium contexts, and can be used by any parent or teacher without specialist training.

The Topper Is Not Always the Gifted Child
One of the most important ideas on the platform is also the most misunderstood in India: high academic performance and giftedness are not the same thing. The bright child knows the answers; the gifted child already knew them before the class started. The bright child pays attention; the gifted child is obsessively curious, frequently bored, and often a "problem" for teachers. Understanding that difference can change the entire trajectory of a child's life.
